The importance of grieving well

Grieving well is extremely important. Death is a natural process and a continuation of life, and both are like twins who could not exist without each other.

How is it possible to get over the death of a loved one? Before even thinking of getting over anything, it is important to embrace the situation for what it is. First, you need to give yourself time to experience the feelings (sadness, pain, and sometimes anger) that such an event causes. Then, when you are ready, you can say goodbye. This essential step in the grieving process can be achieved in many ways and just requires a genuine desire to understand yourself in order to grow.

Always remember that distance is insignificant when it comes to matters of the spirit. As the person left behind, you have the important role of liberating the deceased. You can talk to them, write them a letter, or whatever works for you. Despite the sadness and pain you may feel, they need to know that you are willing to let them go. This is an act of true beauty and love. Usually, those who do it, experience a great sense of relief and peace.

Proper grieving is not limited by the boundaries of time. The only requirement is to learn to accept the many “what if”s (and other questions) that the passing of a person will leave unanswered. It is also a way to learn to destroy fear. As Leonardo Da Vinci puts it, “While I thought that I was learning how to live, I have been learning how to die.”
